Sequoralab works at the front end of deep tech and research commercialisation — where promising ideas stall not because of weak science, but because of incomplete assumptions, misaligned stakeholders, and no shared language for value.
We exist to fix that, before it becomes expensive.
We partner with accelerator programmes, technology transfer offices, and research institutions to bring structured innovation coaching to the teams they support.
Through the Impact Innovation Canvas and a coaching model that combines structured process with strategic depth, we help research teams frame their problem, align their stakeholders, and build credible pathways from lab to market — at the stage where those decisions matter most.
Our work is embedded in the European deep tech and research ecosystem — including Fraunhofer AHEAD, EIT-supported programmes, and research commercialisation contexts across the EU.
Steve Mullen is an Innovation Coach and the creator of the Impact Innovation Canvas™ — a research-backed framework for front-end innovation in deep tech and lab-to-market contexts.
His work focuses on the moment before commercialisation begins: helping research teams and scientific founders frame the problem they’re solving, build shared value logic, and communicate their work credibly to funders, partners, and industry.
The IIC was developed through Steve’s MSc research in Sustainability, Innovation & Technology at Tomorrow University and validated at the Fraunhofer AHEAD Bootcamp in February 2026 — producing statistically significant results across all 10 dimensions with a matched sample of 18 research teams. The thesis was awarded distinction level.
Steve operates at the intersection of deep tech, tech transfer, and the EU innovation ecosystem. He has coached teams at EIC Climathon Berlin, Fraunhofer AHEAD, and EIT-nominated to speak at 28Digital SPIN:Explore, and works through Sequoralab — his Lima-based independent practice registered in Peru.
Sequoralab’s methods have been applied with deep-tech teams across research institutes, accelerators and academic ecosystems — helping researchers turn complex innovations into compelling commercial propositions.
Let’s connect and explore how we can help you design, validate, and scale your next breakthrough.
